Is it legal to sell firearms on the internet?

Now before anyone flips their lid, let me point out that these transactions are fully legal and regulated. Federal laws are followed throughout; if the firearm must be shipped, then it must be shipped to a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder. Before a firearm is released to the buyer, the required background checks are done by the receiving FFL holder. The FFL holder will often charge a small fee for this service.

 

Is it just complete firearms that have to be shipped to an FFL?

No.  Firearms include complete rifles, shotguns and handguns.  However, firearms also include receivers and frames.  Receivers are the serial numbered items on long guns.  Frames are the serial numbered items on handguns.  All firearms shipped from an FFL must be shipped to another FFL.

 

Do Barrels, Uppers, Parts Kits, Stocks, etc. have to be shipped to an FFL?

No.  Only complete firearms, receivers or frames require shipping to an FFL.

 

How do I find an FFL that I can ship my firearm to?

This is actually pretty simple.  You can either use our list of "FFL's on File" or you can find one on your own.  If you find one on your own, make sure they will accept a transfer.

 

What's the procedure for shipping to an FFL on File with The Arms Room?

  1. Select an FFL from our FFLs on File page.
  2. Before making a purchase, contact them to ensure they will accept a transfer.  Use google or a phone book to get their contact information.
  3. Confirm their transfer price and hours of operation are acceptable to you.
  4. Purchase the firearm from this website.
  5. In the notes box on the purchase page, list the FFL name that you want your firearm shipped to.
  6. You will receive tracking information when the firearm ships so you can see when your FFL receives it.

 

What is the procedure for shipping to an FFL not listed on your FFL on File page?

  1. Find your local neighborhood FFL.
  2. Before making a purchase, contact them to ensure they will accept a transfer.
  3. Confirm their transfer price and hours of operation are acceptable to you.
  4. Purchase the firearm from this website.
  5. Give your name and Arms Room order number to your FFL.
  6. Have your FFL contact us at < [email protected] > or at 407-282-3803 to exchange FFL copies.
  7. We will only give copies of our FFL to other FFL holders so please don't ask.
  8. Once the FFL paperwork has been exchanged, you will receive tracking information when the firearm ships so you can see when your FFL receives it.

 

Do we offer any Discounts?

  1. Active or Retired Military/LEO/Fire/EMS = 10%.
  2. Veterans (Not Retired) = 5%
  3. Purple Heart Recipients = 10%
  4. To use a discount, orders must be placed over the phone (407)282-3803.

 

What is your warranty?

  1. All ArmsRoom stock rifles have a 100% lifetime warranty.  If you purchased it directly from us, from a dealer or from a friend, it's covered.  The only thing we do not cover is "stupid" so please don't run it over with a steam roller to see if it will still work.  If you ever have a problem, contact us and we will assist you in getting the product returned to us for repair and/or replacement.
  2. Our sales database will indicate if your ArmsRoom product was purchased as a complete rifle, a complete lower or a stripped lower.  Feel free to contact us and we can verify your warranty at any time.
  3. All new (non-ArmsRoom) defective merchandise should be returned to the manufacturer or authorized service center.  If needed, we can assist you by providing a copy of your original purchase receipt.
  4. All used merchandise merchandise is sold As-Is; manufacturer warranty may apply.

 

Cancellations and Re-Stocking Fees

  1. Returns for reasons other than warranty issues are subject to a 25% restocking fee and any shipping costs. A restocking fee is charged for two reasons. First, if we don't have the product in stock, then we can't sell it.  Second, once we take a product back on a return, we can no longer sell it as new merchandise.  Customer service is our goal, but we must also have a policy in place to prevent abuse.
  2. Cancellations on in-stock items are subject to a 10% restocking fee.  If you cancel your order before it is processed for shipment, no fee will be charged.  We do not charge credit cards for payment unless the item you have ordered is in stock and ready to ship.  Credit Card refunds generally take 2-3 weeks to show in your account.  We have no control over that length of time; that is an issue with the Credit Card companies.
  3. Cancellations on custom builds and special order items are subject to a service fee from 25% up to 100%. The percent of the service fee will depend on the amount of work performed to custom build or order an item. The return policy of the company where the special order was placed is also a determining factor in calculating the service fee. A happy customer is our goal but we can not successfully operate at a loss. We will do everything we can to work with you. Custom builds and special order items are charged 100% when the order is placed. Credit Card refunds generally take 2-3 weeks to show in your account. We have no control over the length of time, that is an issue with the Credit Card companies.
